“It means a lot because it’s really all we ever wanted to do. We were taught at an early age that this is what we do, we are racers, and we are a racing family. The heritage of my grandfather, on both sides of my family. Most of all, I feel like we owe it to the fans. We owe it to the fans of the sport to continue what really my dad built in his time. That’s really when the sport gained its wings and just went flying through and growing. There’s a responsibility for us to kind of continue to carry that on. I hope my kids are paying attention and they want to do the same thing when I’m too old to do this,” Kelley Earnhardt said.

Kelley Earnhardt’s words highlight her family’s deep connection to NASCAR. For the Earnhardts, racing isn’t just a profession—it’s a way of life. Her grandfather, Ralph Earnhardt, built the foundation. Her father, Dale Earnhardt, became a seven-time Cup Series champion and helped NASCAR reach new heights. His success brought the sport into the mainstream and won millions of fans. Now, Kelley sees it as their duty to carry that legacy forward. With JR Motorsports stepping into the Cup Series, the Earnhardt’s remain a driving force in NASCAR.
