Mental strength is of paramount importance in the fast-paced world of racing. Keeping your head in the game is crucial while facing intense pressure and competition both on and off the track. It can be particularly challenging for someone like Bubba Wallace, who has often been at the center of controversies and criticism.

The 23XI Racing driver has consistently tried to prove himself in the top flight of NASCAR racing. While he continues to grow and improve with time, like every other driver in the sport, he has had his share of highs and lows. Enduring a slump earlier in the season, Wallace was involved in unfortunate wrecks for two successive weeks at Atlanta and the Circuit of the Americas. Speaking to the celebrity news outlet People, he recently talked about the struggles he has been dealing with lately.

Two consecutive wrecks can be very demotivating. But to learn to move on from that and show up in the next challenge is the gist of racing. Explaining the mental conditioning and dynamics with his family, Bubba emphasized the essence of continuous self-improvement.

He said, I got my c**p together. My mom, dad, and sister all sent me messages.” Giving some insight into the thought process of a driver, Wallace claimed that performing well in every race may be challenging. He also highlighted the unpredictability of racing, where even after trying your best, “right there at the end, something takes you out,” which the driver believes started a regression that put the team “back pretty far.”

The Alabama native has had to put up through a lot of issues on and off the track. These include altercations with other drivers and a recent inappropriate gesture on live TV. Being in his shoes sounds like a challenging task.

Family can play an important role in getting one out of a tough phase. And Bubba’s family did exactly that. After his unsuccessful attempts and wrecks at Atlanta and COTA, his mother Desiree Wallace came to the rescue. He talked about his reluctance in giving attention to the small details of life and how that approach was something unsustainable for him. This only underlines the fact that the biggest fight for Bubba was with himself.
