Perhaps Joey Logano didn’t quite expect just how quickly he would be nearing the top of the NASCAR’s Most Disliked Driver mountain. Otherwise, he wouldn’t have said what he has said and is continuing to say, something that has earned him a lot of recent criticism on top of the existing criticism.

Part of that criticism came from the NASCAR spotter duo of Freddie Kraft and Brett Griffin.

“If you’re gonna give it out, you better be ready to get it. And I don’t care. I don’t have any faults with anybody who races aggressively, I just don’t want to hear you cry and complain when you get it back,” Kraft said in a recent episode of the Door Bumper Clear podcast.

“He’s already crying,” Griffin joined in. “‘If Byron wants to keep going, we’ll keep going.’ He’s not the one going, you’re the one going!”

What did Joey Logano say about William Byron?

After his explanation that earned him a lot of criticism post-race, Joey Logano chose to stick to the same narrative while also trying to play the good guy, a combination that quite clearly didn’t work out.

“What happened last week, happened. I got fenced, I’m staying by the same stuff I said last week, I got fenced, I retaliated and won the race. Like I said last week, that’s kinda how it works, I won’t get pushed around,” Logano said in an interview. “In my book, we’re back to even. Reset and go again.”

“If he wants to keep going back and forth, I’ll keep swinging. I don’t think that’s a good play for him in the long run … He can keep going,” Logano continued.

“But I can promise you I’ll keep going and I’ll go bigger every time.”
