Dropping the Netflix series NASCAR: Full Speed right before the Daytona race was a stroke of genius by both NASCAR and Netflix. It’s catching fire, just as intended, riding the wave of pre-race buzz. Denny Hamlin already spilled the beans on his dad’s reaction to the show, and Kyle Larson also gave us a sneak peek with Jeff Gordon chatting up Larson’s big dreams. Now, it looks like it’s Ryan Blaney‘s turn in the spotlight.
Blaney just teased a bit from the series on his Instagram story, showing his old man weighing in on what the future might hold for him in the racing world. His dad saw sparks of promise in him from the get-go, and it seemed like that nudge was all it took to turn those sparks into a full-blown blaze.

Dave Blaney, a NASCAR old-timer, kicked off the clip with nothing but praise for his son. He revealed how Ryan Blaney was quick off the mark, a natural on the track. But as for predicting his son’s future, Dave Blaney played it cool. When questioned about where he saw his young son, barely in his teens, in the next two decades, Dave’s response was as down-to-earth as they come:
“I don’t see him anywhere. It’s up to him, what he wants to do. You know, if he’s got the desire to keep going and keep climbing the ladder, so it’s up to him. Right then, it was obvious, it was obvious to me. Once you get a little bit of success, it took off from there. So yeah, the teaching days ended when he was 14, and it means now it’s just pump-him-up days, that’s all.”
Ryan Blaney, tipping his hat to his dad while acknowledging all his efforts, shared, “That’s what you need, that’s what makes you better, and that’s what makes you believe that you can do it. Any playoffs, in any sport you’ve ever watched, once you get to the playoffs, anything can happen. You can get on a hot streak.”
And talking about the secret sauce to playoff success, Ryan added, “You can have not a great year, but you can find something and little tiny confidence boosts. It’s it propels it to, you know, the stratosphere.”
Besides that, recently, both Ryan Blaney and Bubba Wallace were seen on The Today Show, sharing their two cents on the Netflix series, giving it a thumbs up.

Blaney recently dished on his take on the new Netflix hit, “NASCAR: Full Speed,” alongside Bubba Wallace. The pair zoomed into The Today Show, sharing the inside track on the docuseries, the thrill of the upcoming season, and more.
While Bubba Wallace reminisced about his banner year showcased in the series, Ryan was on the same page, especially since 2023 marked the season he clinched his first championship. He gave his two cents and said, “I thought it obviously worked out great for me. I was saying that like they should have done this five years ago. I mean, we’d have won more championships. It’s gonna be really great to look back on, like Bubba said, you know, it was really neat filming at all, giving them all the access to our personal lives and then at the track too.”

He went on, “And you know, I think it’s gonna show a lot of people whether you’re a race fan or you’ve never watched race in your life. It is a kind of the whole daily grind and how grueling the playoffs are, you know, of how up and down and how much blood sweat, and tears go into it. So yeah, pretty special. I am pretty excited for everyone to see it. Obviously, it ends pretty great from a personal stance.”
Seems like NASCAR: Full Speed is going to be quite the ride for viewers! Caught the series yet? What are your thoughts about it?
