The NASCAR Cup Series season this year has proven to be more and more unpredictable with each race. Although, Kyle Busch and Kevin Harvick have been strong all season. Mechanical issues have put them below the points cutoff in the playoff. However, Chase Elliott rubbishes all claims as he displays his love for good competition.
The playoff picture has changed a lot already.

Harvick and Busch were both subject to issues with their cars. And both of them had their cars go up in flames. Obviously, this put them below 12th in the standings, allowing room for them to be eliminated after the race at Bristol. Of course, this would help other competitors like Chase Elliott to proceed further in the competition.
However, Elliott is not one to get happy about that as he said, “Honestly, I don’t really care about the other guys, and I’m not going to get excited about other guys’ misfortune,”, “That’s not how I operate and that’s not how our team operates.”
Clearly, the 2020 Cup Series Champion does not run away from good competition. And he seems to want to fight the drivers fair on track. But it sure is unfortunate what happened to the two drivers. But they are not the only ones who faced misfortune since the playoffs started. In fact, his playoff opener was quite sad too.

His #9 car brushed the corners as he lost control of the wheel, and went sliding into Chase Briscoe at a high speed with nowhere else to go. Of course, the two collided, and his Chevrolet was left with too much damage to race further. Although his crew attempted to fix the broken tow link and send him, their efforts would be a waste as Elliott finished dead last.
