Every driver is unique in their driving style. While some are more aggressive in their way of turning and driving, others prefer a smoother approach. And in a 2018 interview, Bubba Wallace talked about his peculiar style, too.
Particularly, the way he holds the steering wheel is quite fascinating.

In his days with Richard Petty Motorsports, which is now renamed Legacy Motor Club, Wallace was featured in a Discovery interview. And in the interview, he talked about how every driver has their own way of driving. But he took a special mention of the way he grips the steering wheel.
“No one has the same driving style. I don’t know if anybody has a grip like I do.” said Wallace. “My left hand here is at 9 o’clock, my right hand a little bit between 3 and 4 o’clock, but I’ll put my finger, my pointer finger up so it’s a little weird. So I’m always pointing up when I’m driving. I don’t know if I’m already giving myself a number one because we’re gonna win that race. I don’t know why I do that, I just do.”
Well, however he may drive, he sure has found his optimal way to carry the car with his grip. And we know it works for him as the driver had his career-best season in 2022.

Bubba Wallace is ready for 2023
After having his best season in the NASCAR Cup Series, Wallace was quite thrilled. In fact, he even said, “As much as I’m ready for the off-season, I’m ready for next season to start.” After having a season as good as he did, especially after years of hard work (and hate), it’s no surprise he wants to take on the challenge once again.

He further added by talking about how much 23XI grew too, “Just having conversations [recently] about how we are so much better as a team and as a manufacturer from Phoenix [race] one to Phoenix [race] two, it just makes you think about how much better you’ll be starting the year off.”
