Other than being hyper-competitive individuals on the racing tracks, NASCAR drivers are also some of the greatest and sweetest fathers. And most recently, it was the NASCAR Cup Series driver, Demlin Hamlin, who just proved how great a dad he is! The Joe Gibbs Racing driver is indeed a great father. And we recently got to know a bit more about it when Hamlin, in his popular ‘Action Detrimental’ podcast, shared a rather sweet yet anxious incident with his daughter, Molly!
In the recent episode, Denny Hamlin spoke to Jared Allen about the incident that ‘put him on the spot’.
With his already busy and stacked schedule as a NASCAR driver, it is good to see that Hamlin found time to be with his daughter at a father-daughter event in Morrisville. While talking about the presence of some NASCAR legends like Greg Biffle and Jeff Gordon, he came across a not-so-sure moment where he had to dance at the event with his daughter!

Denny Hamlin talks about the father-daughter dance that put him in a spot
In the podcast, the Joe Gibbs Racing driver talked about the event and joked about his daughters vanishing into their own world, enjoying the programs with their friends. All this while, the poor dads, including him, were left to themselves.
“And we’re hanging out with the other dads talking sh*t about, you know how was your golf game, you know,” Hamlin said. The #11 driver also explained that the event landed him in a spot with activities like dancing, line dancing, and musical chairs. Initially, the event was supposed to have a 2-hour father-daughter dance. But an anxious Hamlin was relieved as it rained, which essentially cut short the dance to an hour.
Upon hearing the dance bit, his co-host and friend Jared Allen asked how it all went. Known for his honesty and humbleness, Hamlin shared he was uncomfortable with the dancing bit.
Hamlin said, “I don’t dance, nor do I dance good unless I’m by myself and I feel free to let my body go, let my hips go, let my shoulder go.”
“I don’t feel that free unless I’m by myself “
“But it was good, I mean I saw the other dads getting into it so it made a little bit easier to do it.”

Recalling the conversations at the event, Hamlin also talked about the fanboy in him. He said, “It’s interesting that you know Ray Evernham, a guy that I grew up watching, Jeff Gordon, crew chief like we’re at the same father-daughter dance, our kids are about the same age, it’s just cool but, uh, but it was fun.”
As the veteran driver states, “Mick Murray is there, Biffle’s there, uh Ray Evernham’s there and so we talked racing, mostly.” Hamlin briefly mentions the kind of conversation he had with the seniors about his business ventures and studio programs.
