Hendrick Motorsports star Kyle Larson has been going through a rough phase on the track. With Pocono proving to be disastrous for him, despite being one of the contenders to win the race, Larson will be looking to bounce back next week at Richmond. Being involved in a cold war over Denny Hamlin’s bump at Pocono has taken a good share of Larson’s time and energy this week. Sharing his problems and reaching out to someone for a talk might help. But as per Larson, this would be one attribute where he can be seen as lacking.
Trying his best to keep the feuds in his profession from affecting his relationship with his family, the 2023 All-Star Race winner reveals the one aspect he needs to improve upon.

Driving in the Cup Series can be a very demanding job. Moving from city to city every other week for races, the drivers barely get any time off to sigh relief. While Larson’s wife, Katelyn Sweet, has been a constant supporter and is a regular at the trackside, the 30-year-old says that he has not been up to the mark in letting his thoughts known to his partner, or to any other driver, for that matter.
Speaking in High Limit Room, the popular talk show brought to the people by FloRacing, he is asked, “You guys all have relationships, and I know that there are friendships you have with other guys besides just Denny. We bring that up just because it’s been brought up and it’s a thing to talk about, but how are those relationships handled when stuff like this happens?”
“Is it something where you compartmentalize it and you’re like, okay, I’m just gonna race the same way he raced me, or do you believe that talking to guys outside of the racetrack is the way to go there?”
Larson clarifies that he does not prefer talking to the other guy to resolve things. According to him, the best solution is to move on and try to understand the other person’s perspective.
“I mean I don’t like talking,” explains Larson.
“Whether things happen on accident or intentionally, I think it’s just best to just you know, move on.”
“I’m just that type person. I don’t really like confrontation. I’d like things to move over as quickly as possible. Whether that be racing stuff or things with Caitlyn even. You know, when she’s upset with me, I don’t do the best job at communicating.”
Larson previously conveyed his idea of talking it out with Hamlin. But after Hamlin’s comments in the post-race presser, the scenario seems to have changed drastically.
