NASCAR enthusiast joins the rant as he elaborates on the need for a change
Joining the likes of 23Xl Racing spotter, Freddie Kraft, TJ Majors, and the show’s co-host Casey Boat, Griffin certainly had an interesting topic at hand to discuss. Mentioning the premium football league, NFL, Brett Griffin who’s also from the Southern part of the country, explained the minute details of the present schedule that irritates the community.
Much like its earlier timelines, NASCAR has had race events on Easter days, a special day when the majority of its fans are engaged with their family. Mentioning such disparities with the current schedule, the Kaulig Racing teammate went full-on uncovering the details that go unnoticed.
Casey Boat, the co-host of the show asked, “What do you think will help make things better when it comes to the financial part of the bit, marketing, the sponsors, obviously we know why of certain cases but what can we do to fix it?”
Starting off his rant, Griffin cited NFL as an example to prove his point, “We’re a 38-week schedule, okay, 36 pay points the other 2 are exhibitions, um I dont care for the exhibitions anymore, um I feel like when you look at the NFL there are 4 pre-season games, starting to get players an opportunity to prove they belong on the team and they’re there to kinda get fans excited, the season’s coming, I feel like we just dive into Daytona 500 and almost do better.”
He added, “So if we were a 36-week schedule, um. I would say we raced 10 weeks, we take a week off, we race 10 weeks, we take a week off and then we do a 10 run weel for the playoffs that gives us 3 weekends off over the course of 39 weeks, right? I think that will be pretty cool.”
While he expressed the need for a change with the current schedule, Griffin, being from the South, put things into perspective explicitly, “But I’m telling you right now, to race in the South on Easter weekend is the dumbest s**t we do all year.”

Being the longest season of any sport, NASCAR’s 38-week, Griffin did not hesitate to call out newbie fans who don’t understand how things are south of the country, especially during Easter week. While mentioning a fan tweet, he went on to establish his point, “Listen I had people tweet me this last week: We dont care about Easter, okay? I dont care that you dont care about Easter because I live in the South and Easter is a big deal in the South”.
The podcaster bluntly voiced his mind as he shut up the naysayers that want these races to go on special occasions. “Easter is one of the biggest weekends of the year to be a family”, further he detailed the ground reality of things in the South, “and you race in Bristol, Tennessee which by the way is in the South, you are asking for everybody to forfeit their Easter Sunday and their Easter week to come to the race track. I’m telling you right now, I don’t care Bristol’s dirt, I don’t care if its concrete, I don’t care if its asphalt, if they paint it purple, people don’t care, its Easter weekend in the South.”
