It’s no news that Kyle Larson is a sprint racing fan. Despite his NASCAR commitments, he still finds time to get in those sprint cars and let the energies run wild. And he doesn’t just race them for the sake of killing time, like the ongoing Olympic break, he is insanely competitive in them as well.

Although Larson has been racing in the famed World of Outlaws since 2013, his first WoO win came in 2017. The 2021 NASCAR Cup Series champion has been hooked to the World Racing Group’s series for over 10 years now. But even after so many years of WoO participation, Larson still manages to tickle his fans.

What was Kyle Larson’s masterstroke in the recent WoO race at I-55?

Kyle Larson did not have a particularly good World of Outlaws season in 2024. First of all, Larson is a part-time sprint racer, as he has his full-time affiliation in the Cup Series with Hendrick Motorsports. Secondly, owing to the inaugural season of Larson’s brainchild sprint racing series, High Limit, he could not devote even as much time to WoO as he otherwise would have. Kyle and Brad Sweet, four-time WoO champion, took over the All-Star Circuit of Champions from Tony Stewart and rebranded it.

Larson ended up participating in seven WoO races during the 2024 season, out of which he won just one. Last but not least, Kyle Larson took the victory lane at Ironman 55 for the fourth time. Before the start of this feature race, all that Larson was concerned about was not to be lapped, as he started the race from the 21 position. But Yung Money carved his way to the win through unimaginable persistence. Kyle Larson tweeted after the race, saying, “As bad as we’ve been this year my thoughts before the feature were, “don’t get lapped.” Never give up kids!”

Only so much that a driver can do to bag a win! There is a thing called talent and then there’s a thing called luck. Well, it could be controversial to credit Kyle Larson’s I-55 feature win to luck, but this #57 driver just keeps defying the odds. Another interesting aspect of his win was his all-time high heart rate after the race. He added in his tweet, “New max HR for me as well. I blame that on all the pasta, wine, and tequila in Italy. I think everyone will agree that Larson’s body is just way too adept at winning that it has found a way to bear the extremities.

Had it been any other driver, they would’ve blamed the loss on the trip and the leisure, but not Larson. He blames his heart rate on Italy. What a phenomenal man, he is. While he is making heads turn in WoO, on the other hand, he is also topping charts in the Cup Series. And he is battling the World Racing Group’s criticism of competing for the limited resources at the disposal for sprint racing. Overall, Kyle Larson is a jack and master of many trades simultaneously, and fans agree.

How did the fans react to Larson’s 33 Career Outlaws victory?

NASCAR fans have been in awe of Kyle Larson throughout the Cup Series, and the driver has given them yet another feat to admire. Many fans commented on his tweet on X with praises, and some even went the length to share their own heart rate readings, possibly figuratively.

One user wrote, “Congrats on a great win!…my heart rate was on overdrive watching that last lap. Looking forward to seeing you race at Knoxville.” Knoxville is popularly known as the Sprint Car Capital of the World and hosts the annual NOS Energy Drink Knoxville Nationals, that is right around the corner.

Another user commented, “I wonder how much calories you burn in a race, slick and awesome win,” concerned about the driver’s health. Some fans also joked about his Italy and wine reference, Congrats Kyle! Tequila does that to me too…” A second one further commented, “You gotta quit traveling with @SpotterBrett.”

This one user just couldn’t hold their emotions as they wrote, “Awesome race! I was screaming!! I’m sure my neighbors heard me! Congrats!” And then a user called him by the name a United States Auto Club Series official gave him during his formative years. He wrote, “Bad a** run Yung Money!!” Larson was named as such in recognition of his talent during the USAC times.

Fans just sounded amused by Larson’s win as it was such a refreshing finish to watch. Do you think Larson will win the Cup Series this season? Comment and let us know your thoughts.
