Often, we tune in to our favorite song track or artist while driving. It’s probably the most common form of entertainment to be consumed on the road, and racing legends like Dale Earnhardt Jr are no exceptions to this. While music crosses borders and societal prejudices, sometimes a personal favorite might appear weird to others. But come what may, Dale Earnhardt Jr, as fearless as he was on tracks, has the same outlook as far as his choice of music is concerned.

The NASCAR season is set to resume following the Olympics break. And right before the return to action, Dale Earnhardt Jr sat down with Jordan Bianchi and Jeff Gluck for another episode of the DJD Reloaded podcast. Apart from business as usual for the podcast, the trio widely discussed their preferred choice of music and artists. The discussion around music started with a curious listener. Dale Earnhardt Jr was asked about a band or song he is really ashamed to like. The discussion that followed was intense and enthusiastic. It brought back the old memories of some of the most talented creative heads in the music industry, the forgotten geniuses of sorts!

Replying to that question, Dale Earnhardt Jr initially said, ”I mean we’ve talked about that. I don’t know if I am ashamed to admit it. All the music that I like I am not ashamed of it, but you might be surprised to know that I like it.” As the discussion progressed, the names of bands like Creed and Nickelback came into discussion. Following this, Earnhardt Jr couldn’t resist revealing his favorite music artist.

”Barry Manilow would be one that I’d probably say. You’re not going to walk around, bragging around your buddies ‘Man I’ve been listening to Barry Manilow lately. Check it out.’ yeah, that kind of stuff. I am into Barry Manilow because it’s very nostalgic you know I remember seeing him on TV, you know, or as a kid hearing him on the radio.” The Beach Boys and artists Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston also appeared in contention. The discussion, in turn, created a diverse set of artist recommendations for the listeners.
