Home/NASCAR

After wrapping up his analyst duties with FOX this season, Clint Bowyer was ready to come back to his groove by returning to truck racing. The last he raced was at the Hearts of America 200, at Kansas with GMS Racing, where he finished in the fifth position. Ahead of the final race at Nashville, he even had Kyle Larson bet on him! Larson showed his support publicly via X handle, saying, “Since I’m obviously @ClintBowyer favorite on Sundays I’m going to have to pick him tonight at @NashvilleSuperS @NASCAR_Trucks. Good luck old man!”

While Bowyer had Larson’s wishes, he didn’t seem to have lady luck by his side at Nashville Everything seemed to be going his way at first, but it all quickly started to fall apart, leaving him with a tough day on the track.

Yes! It Is Great for NASCAR

No, It Was a Disaster This Time

Clint Bowyer was all prepped for this Friday’s Craftsman Truck Series Rackley Roofing 200. He went in for a seat fitting, went through multiple meetings, and got his time at the stimulator. Moreover, at the practice in Nashville Superspeedway, his truck looked promising, and he even had a decent result in qualifying, securing 11th place. Given that he was on a hiatus for so long, this result had everyone excited. In fact, during the main race, he rose from his p11 position to p7, but this isn’t the sweet deal he got in the end!

Clint Bowyer had a good start and despite battling a loose condition, he had speed and something to rely upon. But it was after stage one that the big issue started. As the race reached the restart zone on stage 2, the entire field was stacked up. Chase Purdy went to take off but didn’t get a great launch, and that’s when chaos erupted. Bowyer slammed into the back of Purdy’s No. 77 truck, triggering a ripple effect behind them. Due to the accordion effect, Clint Bowyer was involved in a chain reaction, finishing P17.

Bowyer said to FOX, “Well, it was just that. We fought loose in the whole time from the word go and I know from a lot of years of experience that’s hard to overcome. You fix that and it hurts something else and that something else is usually exit. We just kind of fought back and forth. I stalled it on pit road. … That Dye, I think I passed him earlier in the race, he run up front. Shouldn’t have made a mistake, put us back there in the back and then I don’t know what the hell happened on the restart. They all checked up. It was dead stopped in front of me, and I crashed, Mike. Tore my top up.”

But well, nothing is holding him down. He further assured that he would be back and that the end at Nashville was not it for him. He added, “But I will be back, I promise you there’s no way in hell I’m ending on that note.” Even Jordon Bianchi posted on X a short conversation he had with Bowyer. In which Bowyer said, “I gotta do another one; I ain’t ending like that.” Clearly, he is far from giving up!

On another note, did you know that his son prophesied this ending?

Cash Bowyer is carving out his way into the racing world himself. He won his first go-kart victory and his proud dad even went ahead to share it on his Instagram. And just like his dad supports him on the tracks, Young Bowyer was there in Nashville to clap and cheer for his dad on a big day.

Michael Waltrip from FOX caught up with Cash Bowyer to ask him about his racing career and whether he was having a great time in Nashville. And with a cheeky smile, he just gave a perfect jab at his dad. He said, “Yeah, I’m having fun. I’m actually the only one that’s won this season so far competing with this guy [pointing at his father].”

Well, it seems like he had already predicted or sensed that things might not end well for his dad. And just like he said, indeed Cash now remains the only Bowyer with a win this season- a playful yet prophetic jab that proved all too accurate!

But Clint Bowyer should be proud. It takes a lot to get ready to be uncomfortable—and he wasn’t afraid to be. Yes, the finish could have been better, the day could have been better, but there is always another race. And his statements of coming strong again just underline the fact that he will be back at it again. Fans loved seeing him on track and the round of applause he got from is a testament to that. There is no doubt, fans would love to see him go again soon!
