In the latest edition of the Door Bumper Clear podcast, TJ Majors said, “There were actual cars that did stop and wreck, and the track wasn’t blocked until the four-car pulled up and blocked the track.

The moment Harvick pulled up to the wall in front of him caused the track blockage. He further emphasized the impact of such actions, stating, “If you’re the cause for the yellow, I think it’s an automatic no-brainer here that you go to the back, no matter what.”

Fan reactions to the incident were swift and critical of NASCAR’s decision-making. Many fans echoed the sentiment that causing a yellow flag should result in losing track position. Frustration and confusion reverberated throughout their comments, with one fan expressing, “I absolutely do not understand NASCAR’s thought process here.” Another fan pointed out Harvick’s deliberate actions, stating, “The #4 saw cars going by, and he decided to block the track.”

Another issue that emerged from the Blockgate fiasco was the apparent discrepancies in the lineup determination. Bubba Wallace’s spotter Freddie Kraft recounted their experience after the pile-up, saying, “I think I’m like, oh wow, we got our spot back essentially, and then I’m thinking I’m like, wait a minute, everybody got their spot back.”

He questioned why no penalties were imposed on the cars that caused the track blockage, and said, “I’m like, OK, but nobody gets penalized for being the one that blocked the track? Like I don’t understand”. He expressed bewilderment at the lineup decisions, raising concerns about the consistency and fairness of the lineup process.
