While the fandom loves a power couple, already developing a sweet spot for supportive couples, NASCAR has a new couple that has been in the headlines for quite a while now. Even though fans love the Kyle Busch-Samantha Busch love story and absolutely adores their family, Stewart and Leah Pruett’s relationship has caught their attention  big time with the NASCAR team owner and NHRA racer developing a deep bond, crossing over disciplines.

This eventually got the 53-year-old in the drag racing scene and Stewart known as the jack of all trades worked his magic last year to win his maiden NHRA title. Now as the couple welcome a new year, Stewart is slated to replace Pruett, taking on her responsibility following her announcement later last year. Now coming to the crux of the matter, speaking to the co-hosts, Brian Lohnes & David Freiburger on the HOT ROD Pod, Stewart revealed how the two met and how he had to fight his way, even to have a phone conversation with the 35-year-old.

Even after he was insisted by his friend on meeting her, Stewart who was engaged at that time did not let his intrusive thoughts settle in as Pruett was married to her second husband Gary Pritchett. Smoke details the further happenings like this, “So literally the next year my engagement is off big time get out of here pack your crap and get out, Leah is separated now, like legally separated.”

“And same thing, get your stuff and get out. And so we’re back at Pratt’s at the Dunes again, and he gets her on FaceTime, and literally Jeff Gordon and Clint Bowyer and I are there that year. And we’re fighting over an iPhone. And I’m like, we’re going to break this iPhone, but this one’s married and wants to talk to her. This one’s married. I’m single. I am committing. I’m maximum effort. I am diving in And I about broke my hand grabbing the phone. We talked for about 40 minutes on FaceTime,” recalled the SHR co-owner with a smile on his face.
