In one of the episodes of DIRT, produced by FloRacing, Kyle Larson’s wife, Katelyn Sweet, revealed that she was burned out, with the hectic schedule of her husband. Even Larson had also revealed that he had 140 races on his schedule. But there is no denying the fact that it is racing that has always been a priority in his life.
Owing to his unending love for racing, especially dirt racing, the 2x Chili Bowl winner went on to win the second title of Brad Doty Classic on Tuesday at Attica Raceway. With the achieving of the second consecutive title of Brad Doty Classic, Kyle Larson becomes the only race car in the sport’s 34-year history to repeat such a remarkable feat. The driver had led every single 40 laps of the race around the .333-mile dirt track.
Larson, who had started second in the race, took the lead as early as the first lap and never had to look back. Although he faced tough competition from his fellow driver Sheldon Haudenschild, who kept his eye on the prize and clung to his second position, his all-time best finish, and his fifth top 5 finish in the Series. Nevertheless, with the crowning of the second consecutive title, Larson in the post-race interview revealed, “I can’t believe anybody has gone back-to-back in the long history of this race, so that’s pretty special for sure. Paul (Silva) definitely has the tune up for Attica. We’re always really fast when we come here nobody what series we’re in.”

Kyle Larson’s win at Attica Raceway comes just hours before the driver took part in Tony Stewart’s million-dollar challenge. The Hall of Famer who is also the owner of the half-mile oval dirt track of Eldora would give a whopping $1 million dollar to the victor of the sprint race. The prize money is also in collaboration with FloRacing.
In order to take his leadership to a new level and provide better opportunities, the race at Eldora would be the first to hinge on a million-dollar budget. With the revelation of the news, Stewart expressed to the media, “I think the biggest thing I’m proud of is the fact that we’re going to make history. To have a Sprint Car driver win over a million dollars is something that’s never been done. We’ve had two $1,000,000 to win Dirt Late Model races here at Eldora. I’m really excited that the Sprint Car community is finally getting a one million dollar to win race.”
Even Larson posted the news on his Twitter account with the words, “Historic couple days here coming up at @EldoraSpeedwayracing for a million bucks! Thanks to @TonyStewart and @FloRacing for what they’re doing to continue to GROW this amazing sport. Wish the other series and their leaders would acknowledge the impact this has on sprint car racing.
