It does not happen every day when a tough driver from a rough sport can make the fans so emotional. While also being excited about the Cup Series season, the world of NASCAR is preparing itself to bid adieu to one of their favorite drivers at the end of the year. One of the 75 Greatest Drivers of all time, Kevin Harvick, has found a place in the hearts of his fans with his illustrious career.
Still, the All-Star Race at North Wilkesboro Speedway this weekend will be extra special for Harvick. He will certainly experience going back in time and reliving his beginnings in the NASCAR Cup Series. You may wonder why? Well, he recently announced that he will be behind the wheel of the #29 car, which holds a special place for him.
He began his career filling in the spot that legendary Dale Earnhardt Sr had left behind at the Richard Childress Racing team in 2001. The Intimidated used to race with the number 3. However, with the team’s request to NASCAR, their new driver, Harvick, was able to fill in the same seat with a different charter, i.e. 29. A few hours back, the current #4 driver shared it would be a strange feeling for him to be in the #29, but he is certainly excited about it.

Kevin Harvick recently shared his heart-warming journey with #29
Soon after his announcement about racing in the iconic #29 car, Stewart Haas Racing on Twitter shared a video featuring Harvick. In the video, the forty-seven-year-old begins to pen down a beautiful letter for his ride. The words denote the epic relationship between a driver and his race car and all the moments that brought them where they are today.
He began by saying, “It was a moment that we weren’t supposed to be in. Forced to step into the spotlight under circumstances no one expected. We knew we had a lot to prove.”
Taking the place of Dale Earnhardt, Harvick had some big shoes to fill. Looking back at the time, he said, “I made it clear, there’s only one intimidator, and we couldn’t be expected to operate like him. I did make a promise to you and our crew, we were going to take this deal one race at a time and do the best we could. Didn’t take long to prove what our best was made of. Just three races into our time together, we cemented our first win in Atlanta. That single moment gave NASCAR a breath of relief and some belief. Belief, this wasn’t just another driver in his race car. It was a number and a name they would remember forever.”
A number and name NASCAR fans will remember #4EVER.
29, let’s ride.

He further talked about his incredible experience, saying “Over the next 13 years, we would win big races, experience heartbreaking finishes and become consistent contenders. More importantly, we would grow up to jumping over a few hoods, throwing a few punches, and saying what needed to be said. The lessons I learned in your seat paved the way for my own legacy and helped me find my voice for myself and others within our sport. As I take my final laps it’s only fitting we get to race together. One more time. 29, Let’s ride!”

“A beautiful tribute. Thank you for 22+ great seasons and taking us along on the ride.”
“Thank you Kevin, your car on track my eyes welled up. My wife had just become a NASCAR fan and picked Dale Earnhardt senior as her favorite driver 1999. She was devastated and you renewed her NASCAR interest. You would become one of my favorite drivers of all time.”
What great memories Harvick and RCR gave us over the years. I was lucky enough to get to go onto the shop floor in 2012 on a tour with @JerryHailey3 that I'd won from @ChildressWines. The photo of my dad and I in front of the Rheem car in the shop will #4EVER be a favorite. pic.twitter.com/rhlTrvAWkK
