NASCAR is a highly competitive motorsport that is not for the faint-hearted. However, when it comes to the quality of competition, the Craftsmen Truck Series is nowhere near the highest tier, the Cup Series. The Truck Series is mostly seen as a stepping stone where gifted drivers hone their skills before moving on to the Xfinity and Cup Series.

This does not mean that full-time Cup drivers stay away from Truck Series races. There are several Cup champions who venture into the lower tier from time to time. In the Truck Series race at the Bristol Motor Speedway, it was Joey Logano who took the checkered flag and stole the show quite comfortably. However, many fans believe that this defeats the purpose of motivating budding drivers.

The race was a piece of cake for the #86 Ford driver, as he scored an easy pole, won all stages, and led 138 of 150 laps. This did not sit well with fans as despite being the defending Cup Series champion, Logano took part in the race and robbed the younger drivers of the opportunity to win.

NASCAR shared a congratulatory post for Joey Logano on Instagram. However, the reactions it received say quite a bit about what the fans do not want to witness.

NASCAR’s post received comments that proved to be in complete contrast with the essence of the post, as fans took their time to bash Logano. The fans vented their anger against Logano by commenting:

“That’s like an nfl team winning against a high school team.”

“Cup drivers in trucks or Xfinity just isn’t fun to watch. Plz keep them in their own series”

“Get logano out of truck series and let someone win”

However, it doesn’t look like the negative comments will have any effect on Logano—the same way he didn’t when he wrecked Denny Hamlin in 2013, due to which Hamlin suffered an L1 compression fracture and had to sit out of the competition for a few months. In fact, Hamlin recently called out Logano’s actions during his appeal against the penalty imposed by NASCAR.

It seems that not just fans but drivers too are frustrated by Logano’s attitude toward others. However, now that he has taken the measure of the track, he will use it to his advantage during the Cup race.
