Following his explicit statement about Lajoie, the #7 driver returns fire wrapped in an old tale involving Busch
From what one can presume considering the exchanges that ensued after the kerfuffle, there’s definitely some bad blood between the two. And this week, Corey Lajoie mentions a backdrop to the whole tussle between the two.
Speaking to the popular Frontstretch media, Lajoie shared the interesting tale involving the Richard Childress Racing driver that happened last year. Apparently, the reporter was clever enough to ask him some interesting questions.
“You had a run-in with Kyle Busch at Martinsville, did you talk to him at all this week about?” asked the reporter.
To which Lajoie responded, citing the intense atmosphere on the track. As the driver coined it a “bad day”, Kyle Busch certainly wasn’t a fan. Briefly talking about his “bleeding position” at Martinsville, Lajoie left the rest to the viewer’s intellect as he said, “I was also bleeding position and he was also bleeding position. Just at a slower rate than I was and he drove on my left for a couple of times. So, I gave him a little door back. So, I mean, that’s just race.”
Further, the 31-year-old Charlotte native, mentioned “kickball” as he opened up about his mindset racing with the rest of the roster while taking us back to the bumps last year.
“When I’m on the race track, I almost put into context, ‘Okay! Who is gonna play who? Who’s gonna say yes when I ask him to play kickball here?’ In October, Kyle Busch said ‘no’ last year to kickball. So, I’m gonna give him one more door. Then I want somebody else is going to sign up like,” said Lajoie.
How did the race go on with the bad blood spilling on the track?
