In a recent Dale Jr Download podcast, Dale Earnhardt Jr spoke about last weekend’s race at Atlanta. Among the various topics, he spoke about the wreck between Ross Chastain and Martin Truex Jr. As it turned out, he believes that Truex Jr. was mostly at fault for the accident that collected a few other cars. Of course, there was no denying that the Trackhouse Racing driver had pushed the JGR man into the corner.

He said, “Truex’s car was a big reason why the thing with Ross happened in Turn 1 and 2. Ross pushes him into the corner and Truex has to lift because his car is out of control. He’s lifting, lifting, lifting, Ross is waiting, waiting, waiting.”
“Ross is lifting too, like ‘I’m trying not to hit you. At some point, I can’t stop my car’. Finally, he ends up getting Martin turned around, they all spin out and crash.”

Dale Earnhardt Jr had to put aside his friendship with Martin Truex Jr
It is worth mentioning that Truex Jr. and Earnhardt Jr. are good friends. However, when it came down to being objective, Dale Jr. was never going to sugarcoat it.

In a recent interview, the former NASCAR driver revealed that the Joe Gibbs Racing driver was not happy with some of his criticism. However, he told him that when he was in the booth, he has to be professional and the ‘friendship hat is not on’.
Speaking of Truex Jr, he has to really put his head down and focus on the upcoming races. He knows that there are many races left in the regular season and a limited number of Playoff seats. So, the plan is to try and snatch a win in the next few races, starting with New Hampshire this weekend.
