Frankie Muniz’s unsteady ARCA championship run

While Tyler Ankrum of Toyota clinched the win at Mid-Ohio, edging out Sean Hingorani who got off a tussle with teammate, Dean Thompson in the last lap, the sitcom star finished the race 6th. Despite a dream start to his NASCAR hopes, and being a major draw in NASCAR’s lower division, he hit a new low when he revealed his bleak ARCA future.

Following his Mid-Ohio run, speaking to Frontstretch, Muniz said, It’s a tough position to be in you know, we’re competitive, I’m second on points, I know I’m far away from a lot but I’m still second in points you know obviously I want to finish the championship.” After suffering a horrific crash 14 years ago in Atlantic Championship that left in on the sides, Muniz is presently having a sensational rookie season being second only to Jesse Love in the standings.

Bringing his Rette Jones Racing Ford to the forefront, the 37-year-old driver got realistic about his future in the series, I need the races, I need it more than anybody, I have the least amount of experience of anybody here, so if I want to run you know even if its next year in Truck or whatever it is I need the experience of being in this car and you know the only way to learn is to be racing, so I’m hoping something comes together,” said Muniz.

With the news coming out and spreading like wildfire in the community, Redditers took the tweet to the platform where they actively discussed the sad reality.

“He’s literally the reason I’m following ARCA”- Fans react to Frankie Muniz’s sorry turnaround

While Cup Series is undoubtedly NASCAR’s top division with elite talents and larger-than-life sponsors but to get to that position, one certainly has to give his all. Years of grind and grit certainly separate the seasoned drivers from the rest. And that is exactly why lower-tier divisions like ARCA plays a significant role in bringing up young talents up the ranks.

And one reason that caught the community stuck to ARCA Menards Series this year is the presence of actor-turned-driver, Frankie Muniz. Rather than using his opulence as a Hollywood celebrity and buying his way to the top, the passionate racer slowly yet steadily awaits for a sponsor to support this run.

Another fan commented, “He’s literally the reason I’m following ARCA so closely this season!”

Whereas another fan hoped the best for the star,
