“I know it’s going to be a very competitive season.” Frankie Muniz said these words about his 2025 schedule. After all, juggling a full-time NASCAR routine and shooting for a new movie is no easy task. The ‘Malcolm in the Middle‘ star began his journey into stock car racing barely two years ago, which explains the plethora of novel possibilities on the horizon. Yet Muniz has reined in his jittery feelings.

The actor/ racer embarked on his first full-time NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series season this year. Driving the No. 33 Ford for Reaume Brothers Racing, Frankie Muniz has already powered through three races with a career-best top-ten finish. So what can possibly stop this Malcolm’s smooth sail?

Frankie Muniz charts a journey of growth

Every skill requires time, dedication, and truckloads of effort. Frankie Muniz poured his heart into NASCAR as soon as he got a chance. Having drummed up his love for racing early – he took part in the Toyota Pro/Celebrity race in 2004 – Muniz was determined. In the 2023 ARCA Menards Series season, Muniz collected one top-five and 11 top-10 finishes, culminating in a fourth-place points finish in the standings. Yet hiccups were on the itinerary, as they always are. During his four-race Truck Series schedule in 2024, Muniz could only piece together a best finish of 29th at Kansas Speedway.

During a recent interview on the ‘Bobby Bones Show’, Frankie Muniz got candid. He revealed the struggles he faced during his initial NASCAR induction. “Definitely, the first couple of races when I started in the NASCAR world two years ago…my heart rate an hour before the race was like 200 and it stayed there the entire time. But I just got exhausted, right? You’re just physically so drained by the end of the race ’cause you’re in that fight mode the whole time.”

But every story has a progressive stage. So Frankie Muniz is not the nervous wreck that he was before, as he has finally made peace with the tense racing. That was visible in his well-fought 10th-place finish at Daytona International Speedway. It marked his first top-ten in five Truck races. Muniz continued: “Now, I seem more calm when I start the race. I try, during the race, to breathe and make myself kind of stay more in that relaxed state as much as you can at you know, 200 mph. I find it when I’m there. You’re just less tense and you can definitely relax more and make better decisions in those split seconds you need to when you’re not running at a ten the whole time.”

As Frankie Muniz reaches for the sky, people are also focusing on him. His NASCAR journey is getting the support that it deserves.

New sponsor on the line

Well, Frankie Muniz’s popularity is hardly one to question. His 1.3 million Instagram followers are double that of NASCAR’s Most Popular Driver, Chase Elliott‘s 493,000 followers. Add his progressive race statistics into the mix, and you have a recipe for attracting big sponsors. The No. 33 Reaume Brothers team has just roped in Ryder, a well-known logistics and fleet services company. It will be the primary sponsor for Muniz’s ride at the Baptist Health 200 race at Homestead-Miami Speedway. The sponsorship of Muniz’s Ford F-150 will serve as the first-ever sponsorship of a NASCAR truck for the iconic brand.

Frankie Muniz spelled out his enthusiasm for representing this historic brand. “It’s an honor to represent Ryder, a company with such a deep history in trucking and logistics. The connection between NASCAR and Ryder makes perfect sense—both are driven by innovation, performance, and an incredible team behind the scenes making it all happen.” Stephanie Wicky, vice president of marketing for Ryder also praised Muniz for his talents. “Frankie brings an incredible work ethic, determination, and passion for excellence—qualities that resonate with our brand and our customers in transportation—especially in the commercial fleet rental and leasing industries.”
