Fast forwarding to the incident, following a massive wreck at the end of stage 1, a red flag was displayed for a duration of 9 minutes and 30 seconds. During this pause, Brad Keselowski was observed maneuvering his car in circular motions near the backstretch. As other drivers witnessed his peculiar movements, they queried over the radio, seeking an explanation for his actions.

In a recent Twitter video showcasing different drivers’ reactions upon seeing car No. 6 engaged in a circular motion, Martin Truex Jr. directed an inquiry to his team to understand the rationale behind Brad’s stance. In contrast, Chase Elliott’s radio broadcast, “They might be on fire, got his own little race going on”

Notably, Kyle Busch‘s radio response garnered attention as he humorously remarked, “His Buns got too hot” a sentiment that Joey Logano joined in on by adding, “Donuts without the cool factor”

Meanwhile, Ross Chastain drew a humorous parallel, comparing the action to his dog’s behavior when he’s given cookies, stating, “No 6 looks like my dog when he has the cookies”

Caught up in the moment, Erik Jones chimed in on the radio, suggesting, “Looks like someone falls off Jet Ski and it just kinda gets it’s own.”

On a playful note, Alex Bowman jested, “Out here cutting laps on the own short track, that’s why we need to have our cell phones in our cars, This would make a great Instagram story post.”

Amidst speculation that Brad’s actions were prompted by a fire within his car or the intention to keep his tires warm, Brad Keselowski eventually unveiled the genuine reason behind his actions during a post-race interview.

During the post-race interview, a presser inquired about the reason behind Brad’s unexpected maneuver. In response, Brad Keselowski disclosed that he had observed smoke surrounding his shoes and noticed an issue with the left front rocker panel. He explained, “I knew that meant it was about to catch fire and I was going to get knocked out of the race.

Brad added, “The only way to stop that was to get air moving through the car. Being under the red flag, I had to improvise. There was a pad at the bottom of the racetrack. I knew I couldn’t drive around the racetrack without getting in serious trouble, but I figured I could get away with driving on that pad.”

Gradually, he maneuvered his car until the flames and smoke dissipated. But what was the cause of the fire? Brad Keselowski attributed it to the foam insulation overheating. Now, the question arises: Was Brad’s decision the right move at that crucial moment, or could he potentially face penalties for his actions?
