Shattering the mold and shaking the status quo, Natalie Decker, a bright star in the NASCAR galaxy, has penned another chapter in the annals of history. In a field typically dominated by men, Natalie, alongside her better half, have carved out their niche as NASCAR’s premier racing duo, bringing a fresh twist to the high-octane, adrenaline-fueled world of motorsports.
During a recent tête-à-tête that was as revealing as it was enlightening, Decker pulled back the curtain on their love story, both in the fast lane and in the slower pace of their private lives. Far removed from the thunderous symphony of revving engines and the acrid scent of scorched rubber, they’ve nurtured a bond that not only fires up their romantic relationship but also turbocharges their performance on the tarmac.

Natalie Decker and Derek Lemke, two emerging contenders in the NASCAR arena, have shown that love can flourish even amidst the roar and rush of the racecourse. Decker, the trailblazing lady from Wisconsin, is renowned not only for being a female rarity in NASCAR’s male-centric space but also for her awe-inspiring performances in the ARCA Menards Series, NASCAR Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series, and more.
Her counterpart, Derek Lemke, hailing from the land of 10,000 lakes, Minnesota, has left an indelible mark on the local racing circuits, battling it out in Super Late Models with a fervor that mirrors his partner’s spirited drive.
During a recent heart-to-heart, they shed light on how they’ve been each other’s pit crew both on and off the track. Knowing each other since their salad days has given them an edge in being a supportive couple. As Natalie put it, “We’re both very competitive, and everything we do together, but we grew up racing together, and I grew up racing against him and his dad in the Midwest.”
Natalie Decker jestingly admitted that while they both rev up their competitive engines, “He has never beaten me.” Derek, however, with a knowing grin, retorted, “Hopefully we can change that.”

As of now, Derek Lemke is warming up his engines to make his grand entrance at Richmond Raceway in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series. Once a formidable contender in the late models across the Midwest, Derek won the title of NASCAR Minnesota Rookie of the Year in 2013. Financial speed bumps led to a decrease in his racing, but he continued to fuel his passion for the sport in public relations and marketing roles.
While Decker took the wheel for RBR in both the Xfinity and Truck Series, Lemke stepped into the role of the bridge, connecting Decker and RBR, and his invaluable contributions played a significant role in steering this venture toward success.
Expressing his excitement, Lemke stated, “I’ve spent time with the team at the track racing with Natalie, and I’m glad I get to make my first NASCAR experience as a driver with RBR. Going into this with no expectations but to just enjoy this time because you never know if you get another chance like this. Hopefully, we can get a good result and that would just be a cherry on top!”
