NASCAR enthusiasts widely appreciate Kyle Larson. The 2021 Cup champion is considered one of the best drivers in NASCAR and has cemented his place as a legend of the sport. In a decade-long career, he has collected accolades in all sorts of racing divisions—be it sprint, dirt, midget, or stock.

It turns out that it’s not just fans who admire him. Getting the nod of someone close to your on-track rival is quite interesting. Denny Hamlin is one of the legends of the modern era. Hamlin and Larson’s recent battle at the Kansas Speedway has only added to the narrative about their on-track rivalry. However, in a recent revelation, Hamlin’s friend and co-host Jared Allen had some positive words to say about the Hendrick Motorsports ace.

In the latest episode of the Actions Detrimental podcast, the duo talked in length about the incidents in Kansas and Darlington. Talking about the frequent, and sometimes inevitable, contacts and risks, Hamlin raises a question. He asked, “Is there any week where you can go without rubbing somebody the wrong way?”

Allen sympathized with Larson on the unfortunate spin that sent him into the fence in Kansas. “You gotta feel for the #5 team because they got taken out last week or their chance to win by some guy.

Responding to this, the Joe Gibbs Racing driver reminded him, “They didn’t get taken out, they finished second.”

The statement put Jared in a dilemma as Hamlin added, “This is what … here we’ll recall, you’re playing both sides. You’re playing both sides … ’cause Jared takes a few photos for Kyle Larson too, don’t let him fool ya.”

That moment certainly created a conflict of interest for Jared, considering he spilled out his admiration for Larson at that point.

Moving to a different topic altogether, Hamlin arrived at Allen’s alleged support of Larson. Talking about the little stickers on Jarred’s package, Hamlin observed with amusement, “Kyle Larson! You got a of picture him on your little briefcase thing for your … there’s no pictures of me on that.”

Expressing a hint of dissatisfaction at the fact that there are no stickers of his instead, Hamlin further wanted to know how Allen acquired it. Allen said, “That’s a great sticker that Sonoma gave out for free. All you needed to do was put in your e-mail address and they send you the sticker. Really good promotion.”
