For every generation, there comes a racecar driver who can do it all; who, regardless of the type of car he is in or track he is on, shows you how it’s done. There was Mario Andretti back in the day. There was Tony Stewart yesterday, and today, it’s Kyle Larson.
The 2021 NASCAR Cup Champion has shown throughout his career, and especially in the last year, just how good he is at racing. Not just at any specific kind of racing, but at racing in general.
And in a year or so, the Hendrick Motorsports driver could be behind the wheel of an IndyCar, racing at the most prestigious race there is in American single-seater racing – the Indianapolis 500.

This isn’t a prediction, but something Jeff Gordon recently candidly spoke about.
Gordon, who has taken on the role of the Vice President at HMS, said in an interview that they’re “open” to the idea of Larson at Indy500.
“We’d like to at least discuss as a group what makes the most sense — this is the priority here, and if he went to drive in the Indy 500, we’d want to make sure we’re supporting it, embracing it and excited about it because we think both can be done well.”
As for the near future, the VP and NASCAR legend is prioritizing, making his team even more successful, even if it means creating a TikTok account of HMS.
“My priorities and things I want to focus on the most are: ‘What’s going to help us continue to stay at an elite level of cars, teams, competitively and all the ingredients it takes to do that?’”
NASCAR Hall of Famer puts Kyle Larson in the same category as IndyCar legend
Red Farmer, the NASCAR legend who was recently rewarded with a place in the Hall of Fame, inducted Kyle Larson in a very special category.
When asked about his pick for the best race-car driver ever, he said, “I’d put Tony Stewart and AJ Foyt up there.”
“Now you’ve got this kid, Kyle Larson, coming up who looks like he’s in the same class. He can drive anything and win races in it.”
