William Byron had a run-in with Denny Hamlin under the yellow at Texas. Although NASCAR didn’t take action against him initially, plenty of backlash led them to look at the footage again and eventually penalize him. But as things stand, Byron’s appeal will be heard on Thursday. Hence, everything could change, and he might turn the decision. Or, at least the fans think so.

After much discussion and consideration, NASCAR penalized Byron for his move on Hamlin. Of course, he hit the #11 on the rear bumper and spun him. Although it’s pretty normal to make the other driver spin in a race, the big problem was he pulled that move under Yellow. Obviously, that’s a major penalty, but the officials didn’t charge him at first.

But after plenty of backlashes, they fined him a whopping $50,000. On top of that, 25 points will be taken away from the #24 team. Of course, Hendrick Motorsports is unhappy about this and will fight for it with the sport. And they just got a date for the hearing.

Prominent NASCAR on FOX journalist, Bob Pockrass reported that his plea will be heard on Thursday.

The fans are assuming he will win, accounting it to the alleged Hendrick favoritism.

Of course, the others recognized that Hendrick doesn’t really have an argument to defend themselves. Because fans argue that it’s obvious the #24 hit Hamlin.

While other fans believe the argument is to reduce the penalty.

TJ argues that the #24 car obviously wrecked Hamlin“Every car has an in-car camera when the yellow’s clearly out in the middle of [corner] 3 and 4 and he gets to him, and you clearly hear the motor rev up and hit him. I don’t know what else you would need.”

Kraft seemed to agree “I mean listen, they literally posted a video of it. NASCAR, NASCAR themselves posted a video of William driving through the back of Denny and then they come out and say we didn’t see it.”
