While Toyota showed promise in qualifying, it was Kyle Larson’s Chevrolet and Brad Keselowski‘s Ford that dominated Stages 1 and 2. However, the thrilling twist came in the end as Tyler Reddick’s Toyota displayed lightning speed, threading the needle on the final restart and passing the leader, ultimately securing victory after leading for just two laps throughout the day.

Moments before the final restart, a dramatic incident involving Kyle Larson and Chase Elliott captured the attention of fans and media alike. Chase Elliott expressed his disappointment over their contact, while Kyle Larson attempted to explain the situation. This heated exchange sparked the beginning of a potential rivalry between Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Mike Davis as they delved into a developing feud, offering intriguing insights and delivering a message to the NASCAR community.

Following the initial contact, Chase Elliott responded by slamming into Kyle Larson’s right door. This raised questions about whether Chase was trying to send a message to Larson. Freddie Kraft shared his perspective on his podcast, Door Bumper Clear, advising that Chase Elliott shouldn’t escalate this minor issue into something bigger.

In contrast to Freddie Kraft’s view, Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Mike Davis took a different stance, considering Chase Elliott’s move a reflection of his racing personality. Dale Jr. provided historical examples, recalling instances like his father’s actions and the contact between HMS drivers Jimmie Johnson and Jeff Gordon at Martinsville in 2018.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. said, “That’s okay if they don’t like each other. We don’t see them hanging out, they don’t need to hang out right. I think it’s gotten uh you know I don’t care whatever Chase wants to do. Whatever Chase wants to say, I don’t need Chase to tell me what happened. I don’t need Chase to tell me how he feels, I saw it, I make my own assumptions.”

“And he damn sure ain’t gonna be dumb enough to go yeah hate that guy, I ran into it. Well, I don’t think he wants to create, I don’t think he wants to make situations, they gotta have a competition meeting, they got to all together and be around each other during the week, it’s fu**king weird.”

Dale Earnhardt Jr. characterized Chase Elliott’s move as a reflection of his racing personality and supported his actions in the contact with Larson. Additionally, Chase Elliott himself later echoed a similar sentiment after the race.
