Rumors suggest that Ty Gibbs might be the Kyle Busch replacement at Joe Gibbs Racing. However, following his Xfinity incident where Ty bumped and wrecked his own teammate to win the race, Hendrick Motorsport insider, questions how would existing JGR drivers feel about having Ty Gibbs as a teammate.

Letarte said, “If he goes to the 18 next year. Which I think everybody thinks is going to happen. If your Denny Hamlin, how you think you are gonna race him as your teammate? If you know Truex, we all know Truex. Truex is a pretty easygoing guy. Hard racing you know. You think he’s gonna be okay with that? Like wait a minute my teammate, he just wrecked it, like at what point there is a long-term overflow?”

“If your Christopher Bell you were like, ‘man I got him for the next decade as my teammate, I don’t want him as my teammate.’ Like it could be a moment in time or it could be nothing. It could really affect his career. We could look back five or six years from now and it could have derailed the company. Because he ain’t going anywhere. His last name is on the building.”

In the final lap of the race, Gibbs decided he would want to win the race in any way possible, even if that meant knocking his own teammate out. He did exactly that, wrecked his teammate, and then claimed the chequered. He further went on to make a mockery of himself during the interview, where he related himself to Jesus.
