Earlier this year it was announced that the latest iteration of the Lego Masters Series would feature a Hendrick Motorsports legend, Jeff Gordon. Now it finally seems that the time has come and we might see the former NASCAR driver and four-time Cup Series champion head back into racing. Well, at least, kind of.

Hendrick Motorsports recently announced that their former driver and current vice chairman Jeff Gordon would be on the next episode of the TV show. Moreover, he wouldn’t be the only NASCAR driver on set. One of the current NASCAR drivers for the team, William Byron, would join Gordon. The latest episode of the Lego building competition television series will air on Wednesday, Dec. 7, at 9 p.m. ET on Fox.
In some capacity, we will witness Gordon’s return to racing. However, it obviously won’t be in NASCAR. Gordon seems to be settled into his retirement non-racing role pretty well to go back into the heat of the competition on the track. However, in the latest episode, the four-time Cup Series champion will be tasked with testing out the Lego cars built by the participants on the show. Byron, on the other hand, will mostly be assisting the participants with the overall design and the concept for the teams to build on.
Jeff Gordon fans can’t wait to check out the episode
Meanwhile, after learning about the episode coming out soon, the fans could not wait to take a look at it. They asked for Lego to come up with a Hendrick Motorsports car collection as well.
