It is time to cheer Dale Earnhardt Jr’s words, ‘It’s Bristol Baby’. After two weeks of nail-biting performances by the divers, NASCAR is ready to rev up the engines under the lights of Bristol. The final race of the Round of 16 that will set the stage for the next half of the playoff is just around the corner.

This infamous, iconic short track has always occupied a cherished position in the hearts of every NASCAR fan, as it provides much-demanded high-octane drama. With the carpet rolling to the ‘World’s Fastest Half-Mile, it will be the survival of the top 12, amongst which lies the name of Kyle Busch. A track where stars have always aligned for the driver, however, in the ongoing playoffs might turn out to be an Achilles Heel, as a NASCAR insider asserts.

With Kyle Larson and Tyler Reddick securing their berths for the next round, only one seat is left for grabs to secure their fate for the Round of 12. If the past evening race at Bristol is taken into consideration, the race was marred by mechanical and tire failures. The question is, will this year be a repetition, or will it surpass expectations?

While a number of names, including Denny Hamlin and Brad Keselowski, have made it to the top of the prediction list, what comes as a shocker is the position of Kyle Busch in that list. Very few drivers have achieved success on the track at Bristol, as Kyle Busch has. The driver has been able to tame the high demands of Bristol’s high speed and banking. However, it seems that he has failed to be a favorite for the final race of the round of 16.

In a conversation with the Chopper and Professor, Steve Letarte seemed to be enraged by the list and situating Busch as a third-tier driver. Steve expressed, “You are gonna put Kyle Busch in the third tier again. The man’s won at Bristol eight times. Not 8 Xfinity wins, not 8 truck wins, not ARCA East, ARCA South, ARCA West, ARCA North, not a birdie on the last hole at the old farm we are talking Cup races.”

“At Cup races at Bristol, he’s won eight, yet the professor is going to make him a tier-three driver, this is gotta be good, go ahead.” While Chopper stated, “My man’s won there 22 times in the top three series.”

Although the two-time Cup Series driver may not be in focus for the prediction table, he certainly is under the cautious eyes of his Richard Childress Racing team. In order to propel Busch to clinch a victory, the No. 8’s pit crew would be swapped for Austin Dillon’s pit crew team.

The news was revealed by Bob Pockrass, on Twitter, “Over-the-wall pit crew swap for Austin Dillon and Kyle Busch starting this weekend at Bristol with Busch in the playoffs. Tire changers, carrier, and jack swap. Fueler remains the same.”
