Last weekend’s NASCAR Cup Series race at the Circuit of The Americas was full of action. As much as some fans enjoyed it, there were a bunch who were of a different opinion. One cannot deny all the drama that comes along with the sport because of the competitive nature of the drivers. Jordan Taylor, who made his debut with Hendrick Motorsports, peculiarly shared his feelings about it!
The 4x IMSA champion and class winner at the 24 Hours of Le Mans was filling in for the injured Chase Elliott in the #9 car for Hendrick Motorsports. Taylor is not new to NASCAR as he has worked with several drivers on their road racing craft and with Hendrick Motorsports on the development of their Garage 56 entry for this year’s 24 Hours of Le Mans. Prepping before the race, in the practice session he ended up 10th fastest and moved to the final round, earning the fourth starting position for Sunday’s race. He was certainly in everyone’s eyes with his performance and confidence.

Jordan Taylor called his NASCAR debut experience wild and all about survival after the race. Taylor is accustomed to driving in a completely different environment, which may have been one of the contributors. With all the highs and lows of the day, he felt that he had a good start, but every restart in the race came with a different story for him! So the entire race became just about survival for him, especially when he was a bit more hesitant than others in the race.
He took to his Twitter to express his feelings and posted a video showcasing it.
In the video, there are a few men in a boxing session with their game on. He captioned his post, “My approach to NASCAR restarts. It was not the right approach.”

Looks like Taylor’s experience firsthand from the track made him realize that it can’t be about survival anymore. He will need to up his game if he wants to see his name in the top ten or better.

They are horrible. Very little respect left in that series. Loved watching you run in the 9 though. Hope that can open a door

Stay away from Nascar, no one in the racing world actually takes it seriously, case in point this weekend

Head up bud, they are less and less professional drivers as time passes unfortunately

Contact is one thing, but yesterday went too far. That said, you brought the car home clean and that’s just fine. I really hope you do more races at some point. @TeamHendrick @JeffGordonWeb how about resurrecting the #25 for road courses for Jordan??
