For many, 2021 Cup Series champion Kyle Larson is the best driver of the current generation. For others, he’s just another HMS driver who drives around the track with a make-it-or-wreck-it attitude. That is one argument naysayers put forward to denounce the driver. But it seems Larson has given the perfect reply to his critics.

“Yung Money” added one more win to his name, clinching the NOS Energy Drink National Midget race at Venture Speedway to take home $10,000, merely days after he bagged a major chunk of the purse at the Placerville Speedway.

Thanks to his extracurricular activities in the racing scene, the #5 HMS driver is often seen as the great Tony Stewart’s successor. His ability in racing stock cars, late models, and midgets has earned him a reputation to the extent that one might say Larson might be one step ahead of the 3-time Cup Series champion. He arguably proved just that after adding one more trophy to his cabinet, acing the USAC National Midgets Turkey Night Grand Prix, and taking home a cash prize of $10,000.

This comes just days after he won the Hangtown 100 at the quarter-mile dirt track in Placerville, California.

Larson also became the first driver in the series history to become its only 2-time Hangtown 100 winner since the race’s inauguration in 2019.

Larson once again lived up to his moniker “Yung Money” edging out the Ryan Timms who set the track on fire being the fastest during the qualifying.

Three names resonated in NASCAR nation as the season progressed to the playoff stages. Larson, his teammate William Byron, and his friend-turned-rival Denny Hamlin were the favorites to take the title. But fate had other plans as Ryan Blaney found his rhythm and came right back to win his first-ever title.

While Blaney gifted his team their 2nd back-to-back title, Larson came up short. However, he won the NASCAR Fan Choice Award—Most Dominant Performance for his blistering performance at NWB in the All-Star race.
