Racing in NASCAR is no child’s play. From building a good car to making the best out of it on the track, all of it contributes to achieving success. However, the most useful asset of a driver on the track is his brain. With the right temperament and apt decision-making skills, winning a NASCAR Cup Series race become fairly easier. After recently returning from his snowboarding injury, Hendrick Motorsports star Chase Elliott answers who he thinks has the best brain in the sport currently.

The 2020 Cup Series champion has raced with some amazing drivers so far in his career. With the likes of Kyle Busch and Kevin Harvick having more than 600 races to their name, plenty of experience, and trickeries under their belt, they surely have known it best to thrive at the topmost level. However, Elliott ignores them as he selects the most intelligent driver in his opinion.

Without a doubt, Chase Elliott is one of the most talented drivers in the Cup Series. At the age of just 27, he already has a Cup Series title to his name and is going strong with Hendrick Motorsports to achieve more. Had it not been for his snowboarding injury in February earlier this year, he would have been surely in a better position on the table this campaign.

However, he recently announced his return to the competition as he will be seen behind the wheel at Martinsville. In his young career, Elliott has been blessed to race alongside some big names. One of them includes Kyle Busch, the two-time Cup Series winner and one of the most skilled drivers of his generation.

The 37-year-old went on a terrific run from 2015 to 2019 where he won twice and finished in the top four for five consecutive years. Another big name that Elliott has raced against is his arch-rival, Kevin Harvick. With almost 800 races to his name, the Stewart-Haas Racing driver has seen it all.

Harvick won the 2014 Cup Series title and has the ninth most wins in the competition’s history. However, while speaking to The NAPA Network, Elliott was asked to name the most intelligent driver in the Series. It was then that he chose to ignore both Busch and Harvick as his answer turned out to be RFK Racing driver, Brad Keselowski.

While not many expected this answer, it certainly feels right for Elliott. Keselowski certainly has the smarts given how well he has set up the Keselowski Advanced Manufacturing company. The company specializes in additive metal technologies and also focuses on using 3D-printed components in different sectors including NASCAR racing.
