NASCAR has been very specific and straightforward with its zero-tolerance policy for any sort of misconduct, especially when it revolves around sensitive issues. Naturally, the same has been expected from the teams involved in the Cup Series. In light of such an event, one of Dale Earnhardt Jr’s adored drivers has been fired ahead of the race in Michigan. However, there is some silver lining to this, as the #42 seat is going to be filled by a fan-favorite Hendrick Motorsports-affiliated driver.
Furthermore, the latest announcement is hot off the press and it is interesting to see how things pan out here on.

Just ahead of the race at the Michigan International Speedway on Sunday, the NASCAR world is struck with a massive blow. Legacy Motor Club has come ahead and announced the suspension of Noah Gragson and that he will not be racing this weekend.
Gragson is a rookie in the Cup Series this year after having performed amazingly well in the Xfinity Series last year. With eight wins, 21 top-5s, and 26 top-10s in 2022, he ended up as runner-up. Despite his second-place finish, Dale Earnhardt Jr remains in awe of Gragson. In fact, he has time and again taken pride in the kind of racer the 25-year-old is.
Having said that, this move from Legacy Motor Club has come as a surprise. While the issue behind this decision remains uncertain, there is speculation about what could have caused it. It is rumored that the punishment is a result of Gragson liking a certain sensitive social media post.

While the decision saw both supporters and detractors, the Nevada-born driver was unavailable for Sunday’s Cup race. In his absence, Josh Berry drove the #42 car. Interestingly, Berry is a former teammate of Gragson’s and he has made quite the name for himself as a high-performing substitute this season, having been the replacement driver for Chase Elliott and Alex Bowman in this campaign.
Berry performed well while replacing the Hendrick Motorsports drivers, even winning the All-Star Open. However, he could not replicate his previous performances in Michigan. That being said, Gragson’s news has been difficult to digest, especially for the NASCAR faithful.

Safe to say, Noah Gragson’s news has come out of the blue for almost everyone. The timing of it makes it even more shocking with the Michigan race just a day away now. With Josh Berry replacing him, Legacy Motor Club has very little time on hand for the race preparations. But first things first; NASCAR reacts in profound support of Legacy Motor Club. The statement read,
“NASCAR fully supports Legacy Motor Club’s decision to suspend Noah Gragson. Following his actions on social media, NASCAR has determined that Gragson has violated the Member Conduct section of the 2023 NASCAR Rule Book and has placed him under indefinite suspension.”
I am disappointed in myself for my lack of attention and actions on social media.
I understand the severity of this situation.
I love and appreciate everyone.
I try to treat everyone equally no matter who they are. I messed up plain and simple. https://t.co/PCX6iMJxRF— Noah Gragson (@NoahGragson) August 5, 2023
Certainly, this has shaken the NASCAR world as fans are left clueless. While many of them looked puzzled, some passed on their own views on the subject.
“Dude, I knew the kid was insecure emotionally. When he attacked Ross Chastain chastain didn’t even run him up to track . He couldn’t handle the push at Talladega Blamed chastain he was looking for excuses to be a part of it that excluded his driving..”

The rumor surrounding the social media mishap is that Gragson allegedly liked an Instagram post, which made light of the tragic death of George Floyd in 2020.
“When you represent a sport, brand, and a sponsor it requires a certain level of professionalism. Free speech is free but it doesn’t come without consequences. No matter a subject’s race just making fun of a homicide is unnecessary. Hopefully Noah learns and grows from this!!”
“Folks remember it’s business there’s a lot of money involved here and you have to support the views of your sponsors as well. We live in a world where these things matter now more than they used to. So it’s just part of doing business.”

While the true story behind this outcome will be unfolded soon, Noah Gragson seems to have accepted the decision here. Hopefully, with time, more clarity will be achieved on the matter.
