This weekend is the NASCAR Cup race at the Kansas Speedway. The Kansas race marks the second race in the opening round of the Cup Series Playoffs. Following the Cup race at Darlington, several drivers endured rough starts to their playoff campaigns.
Hendrick Motorsports driver Chase Elliott was one of them and is languishing in 9th place. Despite all of that, the #9 driver does not want to put himself under pressure. Instead, he insisted that there are many other drivers who can win.

Speaking about the Kansas Speedway, he said, “Kansas (Speedway) is a place that typically has some groove options. It seems like the cooler it is, the more groove options we have. When it’s hotter, the outside lane tends to become more dominant. To me, that place feels like a shorter mile-and-a-half for some reason – it just feels a little tighter than some of the other ones.”

What else did Chase Elliott say about the Kansas Speedway?
The 2020 Cup Series champion confessed that he is a little wary of the weather conditions. He is worried that the weather could have an adverse effect on the track conditions.

Elliott acknowledged that it will be difficult to keep up the momentum, especially since there will be a lot of track evolution. This is because Kansas has experienced hot summers and harsh winters, which will take a toll.

Chase Elliott is aware that he will not have things easy at the Kansas Speedway. However, he has to focus on giving it his best, as the top drivers will be more and more dominant.
