In an astonishing turn of events, Team RFK and their No. 17 Ford Mustang driver clinched their second consecutive victory this season. The unforeseen success left not just the audience and their competitors agog, but Chris Buescher surprised as well. However, in the subsequent press briefing, he elegantly remarked that such victories are the very aspirations he and his team diligently work towards, hinting Buescher’s on the cusp of the “ultimate sweep.”

The sentiment resonates with the esteemed wheelman from JGR, Denny Hamlin, who asserted that #17 achieved the near-impossible feat of keeping Truex Jr. at bay until the pivotal moment. Intriguingly, Hamlin further opined that, currently, RFK towers as the premier Ford squadron, eclipsing both Team Penske and Stewart-Haas Racing.

At the esteemed Michigan International Speedway, Denny Hamlin secured a commendable third place, though falling short of usurping Martin Truex Jr. for the second spot. Yet, against all odds, the No. 17 Ford Mustang driver managed to hold Truex. Moreover, Brad Keselowski, Chris Buescher‘s teammate and the distinguished co-proprietor of RFK, gallantly clinched the fourth position, marking a laudable milestone for their collective endeavor.

Talking about the same, Denny Hamlin eloquently opined on his podcast, “Do we think any year where Ford’s been off just slightly, I mean, they’re starting to get better? For sure! Did we see the combination of RFK, Buescher, and Ford winning two in a row? No! I don’t think anyone saw that coming for sure.”

Furthermore, Denny Hamlin posited that the synergy between the duo is so profound that their performances are intertwined. Emphasizing RFK’s luminous prospects and asserting its position as Ford’s reigning team, eclipsing even the stalwarts like Team Penske and Stewart-Haas Racing, he observed, “It seems like they’ve got some good future there and Buescher, and certainly, man, he probably didn’t see that coming himself. But they executed perfectly; they had a fast car, they held off Truex when no one else could. […] Even though they didn’t have a very good final pit stop.”

In the same vein, Steve Letarte, the seasoned NBC analyst, and NASCAR crew chief, speculates that Buescher might just be the ace up Keselowski’s sleeve, unveiled precisely when RFK’s fortunes demanded rejuvenation.

Steve Letarte postulates that Keselowski possesses an uncanny knack for discerning potential, which is likely the reason behind his profound confidence in Chris Buescher. Buescher, it appears, has an adept comprehension of the intricate algorithms that is superior to that of his contemporaries.

Reflecting upon Keselowski’s past utterances, Letarte notes, “If you go back to Brad Keselowski, there hasn’t been one quote, one moment, one sentence, where he isn’t saying that Chris Buescher is the man.”

Indeed, Keselowski’s unwavering faith in Buescher from the outset seems to be bearing fruit. However, one cannot turn a blind eye to Hamlin’s assertion: the duo’s twin victories emerged as a bolt from the blue, especially given the recent induction of Keselowski, who transitioned from Team Penske to the RFK ensemble.
