The rivalry between Christian Eckes and Corey Heim began during the race at the Indianapolis Raceway Park after Eckes pushed Heim from the outside causing him to make contact that damaged the left front of the No. 11 truck. This led to an angry retaliation, as Heim nudged Eckes’ No. 19 truck for his slip-up. This prompted confusion for Eckes, who later questioned what he had done to provoke such a reaction. While this incident took place a while ago, the two drivers have been expressing subtle hints of rivalry between them on the tracks in the races that followed.

While discussing the incident with Eric Estepp on his podcast ‘Power Hour,’ Eckes surprisingly described the rivalry to be a “healthy” one, where the two drivers seemingly push each other to be better. “If you notice, they usually win, then we get motivated, and we go win. It kind of just stays in a constant circle,” Eckes said, adding that the two have talked about the situation and narrowed it down to just competitive racing, Although it doesn’t seem like they may be on the same page, as Cory Heim may not have forgiven him so easily. “Yeah, he wasn’t too happy with me the last couple of weeks.”

Despite the heated moments on the track, it seems that the two drivers will eventually seize the rivalry and go back to being friends off the tracks. But until then, as the season continues, the stakes are still high, and with that, comes the pressure to compete for the top spot in NASCAR. Will Denny Hamlin’s prodigy be able to cook up a recipe for success to make it to the big league this season?

This season, Eckes has been the truck to beat, managing to rack up 3 wins, 14 top-10 finishes, and 9 top-fives. He’s sitting at the top of the standings with a 50-point lead over Heim at the moment. It’s been a total turnaround from last season for the racer and if it can keep up whatever it is that he and the team are doing, he’s sure to make it big in the long run!

In the end, both Eckes and Heim have bright futures ahead of them in NASCAR, with many hoping to see how their rivalry may turn out in the years to come. But one thing’s for sure, whether you’re a die-hard racing fan or new to the sport, there’s never been a better time to tune in to NASCAR as the big races are just getting started.
