Marking the celebrations of Father’s Day, HMS driver Chase Elliott spoke about his memories with his father in NASCAR’s pit lane. Chase Elliott was born in 1995, and by that time, Bill Elliott was past his prime. Still a child in the 2000s, Chase has very faint memories of the final years of his father’s full-time NASCAR career. Chase also spoke on how the incidents turned his heart to racing.

“This era of his career was one of very few years that I was around to get to watch him race you know, a lot of his career was prior to me being born. The early 2000s was really the time that I was just old enough to kind of start to learn what was going on and realize how cool racing was and those are the years that made me want to do it.

“I have some memories of him winning at Pocono…with Ray and Dodge coming in and all those things and you know, the Stars just kind of aligned. He was older than a lot of guys at the time, but got in that right situation with the right people and they had a lot of success and a lot of fun.” Elliott said while speaking to NASCAR.
