NASCAR spotters always have interesting stories to share about drivers that may not come to light otherwise. Talking about Kraus’ 21st birthday, Kraft stated, “Turned 21 on Thursday, and he was my leading candidate for what an idiot because he called me on… maybe it was a week before, and he was like, Hey I’m coming to Charlotte, I’ll be home, in Charlotte for my birthday can you take me out for my 21st birthday.”

“I was like, I mean I can, I don’t really know if you want that to happen so, he called me what do you want to do, he was talking about dinner, it was early probably about 6 o’clock.”

He continued, “And my 21st birthday, I don’t think I drank a lot of beer back then but I guess it was more liquor, but I kinda assumed him being a kid from Wisconsin like he’s gonna drink beer. And I’m like what do you want to drink, he’s like I want a captain and coke, and it’s 6 o’clock and I was like oh boy, this is gonna be a long day.”

“So we got a couple of drinks at dinner. We went to the kilted buffalo, a cool bar in LangTree over there and that’s where things took a turn to the worst.”
