The final race of the Superstar Racing Experience (SRX) was recently held at the Lucas Oil Speedway in Missouri and Jonathan Davenport impressed fans and experts to take a hard-fought victory. Davenport has been in good form throughout the season, winning multiple races, including the Eldora Million in 2022.

The final SRX race itself was an intense affair, as it is being dubbed by many, including Wallace, as the best race of the 2023 season. The 60-year-old made it into the main event himself and finished in eighth place. After the race, he had to admit defeat to the brilliance of Davenport.

On a recent episode of The Kenny Wallace Show, the 60-year-old sang praises for what was one of the most exciting races of the season before moving on to Jonathan Davenport’s performance. He said that Davenport had won the $1 million prize at Eldora so everyone knew that he had what it takes. His performance at the Lucas Oil Speedway proved that he was a good racer and, according to Wallace, the 39-year-old “spanked” them in Missouri.

“Well, we ran the SRX race in Wheatland, Missouri at Lucas Oil Speedway. It was the last SRX race of the year. And it was by far, well when I say by far I mean it was just, it was incredible. It was the most exciting SRX race maybe ever,” Wallace said.

The veteran race car driver would then sing the praises of Jonathan Davenport, who showed up at the Lucas Oil Speedway and took an impressive victory.

“Jonathan Davenport, he’s the guy that’s been winning all these $1 million to win dirt races up there in Eldora, so, is Jonathan Davenport, is he really as good as we think he is? Well, he showed up. One and done. He came to Lucas Oil Speedway up there in Wheatland, Missouri, for the very last SRX race of this year, and he sp**ked us,” the former Cup Series driver added.

The 2023 SRX Racing competition ended with Ryan Newman taking the crown after amassing 212 points in six races. Marco Andretti came second, followed by Brad Keselowski and founder Tony Stewart.

Truck Series driver Hailie Deegan was also one of the participants in the tournament and she finished in an impressive seventh place. In the second-last race of the competition at Eldora, Deegan had made a name for herself, finishing in second place.

Hailie expressed her excitement on social media in an Instagram post in which she wrote, “What an epic first experience racing at Eldora! Went to a backup car after the heat race and drove up to 2nd in the main.”

She had experienced a lot of issues heading into the main event at Eldora, including being caught in a huge pile-up in Heat 1, which happened due to an issue with Austin Dillon’s radiator hose. Her car took the brunt of the impact and was heavily damaged.

Kurt Busch was one of the people impressed with her performance as he congratulated the Truck Series driver, “Way to go, girl! Dirt racing is in your blood. Hollah for some asphalt tips! I got you.”
