Very few drivers are as dominant in the Xfinity Series as Austin Hill. With numerous feathers to his name, this young driver has exhibited his immense prowess and adeptness when it came to drifting his car on the banks of the superspeedways. While superspeedways have been a nightmare for most drivers, for Austin Hill, it is like a cakewalk.
In his second year at the Xfinity Series, racing for Richard Childress Racing, Hill has already begun the season on a high note and stands second with already three wins to his name. Given his impressive resume, Brad Keselowski’s spotter, TJ Majors, has adulation for the driver as he compares him to one of the best drivers in the Cup Series.

Richard Childress and his NASCAR teams in both formats are surely riding the waves of success in the ongoing season. While it is Kyle Busch in the Cup Series, who is propelling his toward the championship, however, in the Xfinity Series it is Austin Hill who opened the season on a high note. He went on to win three races at the onset of the season, including Daytona and Atlanta.
Exhibiting such impressive skills throughout his Xfinity stint, even the veteran spotter, TJ Majors had expressed his appreciation for the young prodigy. Speaking to his other co-hosts Freddie Kraft and Brett Griffin in the latest episode of Door Bumper Clear, Majors asserted, “Do you know who he reminds me of? He reminds me of Elliott at the Playoff races. He finds his way back to the front, like nothing.”
“And then he gets there and once he gets there he knows da*n well he is gonna lead, the race just got harder for you to win if he goes to the front.”
“I would ask Austin how did you get to the lead because you helped all your friends get there because you know what moves to make and you know that if you could have the best chance at winning the race and control it when you get there your, odds go way up. So I think I look at Austin the same way,” Majors affirmed.

Austin Hill claimed a victory in the first race at Atlanta Motor Speedway at the opening of the season. Moreover, fans were ecstatic to see if the driver would be able to repeat that same feat again in Saturday’s race. However, to everybody’s disappointment, the driver not only failed to clinch a victory but rather finished out of the top 10.
While there were chances where Hill could have won, however, it was a nudge by his teammate Parker Kligerman that crumbled Hills’s dream of winning in Atlanta for the third consecutive time. The incident occurred when Hill and his teammate tried to end the dominance of the Kaulig racing drivers. However, when Kligerman tried to turn inside, he made contact with Hill. This eventually sent Hill spinning on the track.

Although Kligerman denied making the contact, Hill, on the contrary, revealed to Frontsretch media, “I’d have to see the replay. He said that it just packed air in my left ear and got me loose. I don’t know. I wasn’t even really sure what he was doing, driving up the racetrack like he was. I don’t know if he was fighting a loose balance or if he was trying to get behind me, and he just misjudged it.”
“I don’t really know but ruined our day, obviously,” Hill concluded.

The race at Atlanta may not have been a satisfactory one, but the driver is optimistic that he will be able to claim a win very soon. Building such a resume, the days are not far, when he would be able to upgrade to the elite format and perhaps dominate the tracks like Chase Elliott does.
