Dale Earnhardt Jr. was unable to continue his role in the NBC booth for the 2024 season by calling out races. However, the fans would not be void of Dale Jr.’s iconic voice as Amazon Prime and TNT from 2025 onwards. The two media and streaming giants are part of NASCAR’s $7.7 billion mega-deal, which they signed last year.
With new broadcasters, there’s always the question of who will lead the charge in the commentator’s box. Amazon and TNT were quick to get hold of Dale Earnhardt Jr. after he parted ways with NBC, but there was no news on who would join him in the Amazon booth to call the races. Well, it looks like the fans might have uncovered the mystery behind the new announcer.
Going by the speculations and theories floating online on Reddit, it seems like Allen Bestwick will feature alongside Dale Jr. in the Amazon Prime booth. The rumor about his involvement with the new project stemmed after fans linked him to the PrimeSports Instagram account. Out of the 323 accounts Bestwick follows online, the new NASCAR broadcasters were one of them.

Bestwick is one of the veteran announcers of the sport, starting out with ESPN from 2007 to 2014. He led the charge for successful shows like NASCAR Now and NASCAR Countdown, along with his pit-reporting duties. But he transitioned to college football and selected INDY CAR races. His most recent gig as an announcer was with Superstar Racing Experience, but it looks like he is returning home to NASCAR in 2025.

This year’s NASCAR broadcast hasn’t been the most eventful, apart from Kevin Harvick’s maiden run. Now Amazon and TNT split the 10 mid-season races between them. FOX and NBC will still get a big portion of 14 events each, including the likes of the Daytona 500, the All-Star race, and playoffs. However, with this star-studded lineup, some fans demanded that Prime Sports be handed all 36 races for the season. “GIVE AMAZON THE WHOLE F***ING SEASON NASCAR.”
It’s fair to say fans have their opinions regarding the best race announcers in the booth. However, Allen Bestwick’s return has seen the current line-up of NBC broadcasters get flak from the community: “The guy should have a job at Fox or NBC. Rick Allen isn’t good, and Bestwick is better than Leigh Diffey.” On a similar note, another fan said, “Good. He’s been out for nearly 10 years in NASCAR and 6 since INDYCAR. He deserves it.“
Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Allen Bestwick have garnered quite a reputation for themselves as broadcasters over the years. Therefore, this race fan couldn’t contain his excitement after hearing about the potential link-up between the two. “Him and Dale in the booth!? Yes please.”

Meanwhile, some of the Indy Car fans were caught up in two minds. Although they were excited to see Bestwick return to the NASCAR booth, Amazon starting off its duties with the Coca-Cola 600 would see Bestwick vacate his seat to call out the Indy 500 race. “Edit: NVM, Prime coverage starts with the 600. Now I don’t want this haha love Bestwick at Indy in May.”
