There is certainly no denying the talent of Kyle Busch. With two NASCAR Cup Series championships, 61 wins, 238 top-five, and 359 top-ten finishes, he has certainly proven to be one of the best in the sport. However, he still has the zeal to not only compete at the highest level but also to try and win every possible trophy. That being said, one of his recent decisions concerning dirt racing has instigated a dig from one of the Hendrick Motorsports superstars.

Busch recently confirmed his decision to participate in the FloRacing Late Model Challenge. His adventure to try his hand in different types of races continues with this race in Tennessee. However, there was some banter involved from one of the HMS drivers.

It is not the first time that Busch will be trying his luck with a dirt late model. He tried it in 2012 while driving for Scott Bloomquist at Eldora Speedway. Subsequently, he participated in the Bristol Dirt Nationals at Bristol Motor Speedway in 2021. However, he has failed to succeed in triumphing in any of those races. So, the stakes are high this time.

Rowdy will be driving a late model prepared by Brandon Overton and the Well Motorsports team at Volunteer Speedway. Alongside him, Busch will find 2021 NASCAR Cup Series champion, Kyle Larson. The HMS driver recently had his say on the Richard Childress Racing driver’s decision to participate.

Larson was quick to point out how Busch’s experience should help him settle easily in the race. However, he has set high standards for the 37-year-old. He said,

“Well, Kyle should have no excuses cause he was in [Jonathan] Davenport stuff a couple of years ago at Bristol.“And then now he’s going in [Brandon] Overton stuff, arguably the best equipment in the pit area no matter what, so he better not get laughed again like he did at Bristol.”

Obviously, it was a funny bit of banter from the 30-year-old before he heaped praise on Busch.

Larson said,

“I’m such a big fan of Kyle Busch. I think that’s known throughout my whole career, but I think Kyle Busch is one of the most talented race car drivers that I get to compete with. I define talent as who can somebody who can get in all different types of cars and he’s at the top of that list, so excited that he’s not afraid of jumping out of his comfort zone.”

It is understandable why the 2021 Coca-Cola winner is a big fan of Busch. The same reason why well-known late-model dirt driver Overton is all gaga over him.

Busch will be driving the #76B dirt late model in Tennessee, which is driven by Overton. Interestingly, this fact has been quite exciting for the dirt racer as he recently spoke with FloRacing about it.

He said, “

To say he’s going to be driving one of my race cars… I think I’m going to be more nervous watching him than I am when I’m racing out there. We’re looking forward to it. We’re just going to try to give him a good hot rod.”WATCH THIS STORY | “I’m Still Bummed”: Kyle Busch Reveals the Negative Aspect of Hendrick Motorsports Icon Driving for His Truck Series Team
