This time, Hailie Deegan’s Pizza choice has sparked controversy among her fans
After Hailie Deegan’s impressive performance in SRX’s first race at Standford, where she finished 5th ahead of prominent drivers, the series has moved on to its second race. During a post-practice interview, a reporter asked Hailie a fun, non-racing-related question: “Pineapple on pizza, yes or no?”
Hailie responded with a cheerful “Yes, Pineapple and pizza with ranch.”
However, her response unexpectedly sparked lighthearted contributions and mixed reactions from the fans present. Many expressed their disapproval of the pineapple-pizza combination.
Even fellow racing driver Bobby Labonte, who was seated next to Hailie, couldn’t hide his expression, mirroring the fans’ sentiment towards her answer. To add to the camaraderie, Tony Kanaan, also present on the stage, joined in and firmly said no to that combination of pizza with pineapple.
While the moment was filled with humor, it also showed how even off-track preferences can ignite friendly banter among racing personalities and fans. Despite the difference in opinions on pizza toppings, Hailie Deegan’s racing skills and performances continue to make her a standout and respected figure in the motorsport world.
