During the NASCAR Truck Series race at Gateway, Hailie Deegan and Stewart Friesen had a bit of coming together. This was an incident that her spotter, TJ Majors, paraphrased as being similar to the infamous Joey Logano-William Byron incident.

The Logano-Byron incident, if you’re not aware, happened during the race at Darlington. Logano basically took revenge on Byron for shoving him into the wall earlier in the race by bumping him out of the lead in the last few seconds to win the race.

Anyway, that was the incident that Deegan’s spotter believed was similar to her own with Friesen.

“We come off of Turn 4 and we slowed up a little bit. She pinched Stewart a little bit into the wall. It was basically a Logano-Byron of Turn 2 at Darlington,” Majors said. “He got mad, caution comes out, he runs up there.. he’s trying to run her into the grass down the backstretch. The spotters down there are yelling at me.”

“I’m like, ‘She just slid up a little too high.’ I don’t know what you want me to tell you, I’m sorry.”

“I think everyone was upset with everybody,” she said. “I mean, if there wasn’t at least 10 trucks trying to wreck each other in the caution.”
