During the NASCAR Truck race at the Circuit of The Americas, there was a big incident. Zane Smith won the race ahead of Kyle Busch, but there was plenty of drama unfolding behind them. Among the many culprits were Hailie Deegan and Kaden Honeycutt.

Apparently, Deegan and Honeycutt were battling for position when they collided and were knocked out for a spin.

It was a shame because Deegan had qualified in 16th place, and the incident hampered her progress. Admittedly, it was largely Deegan’s fault because she attempted a massive dive bomb down the inside of Honeycutt.

However, she out-braked herself and slammed into the side of an unsuspecting Honeycutt. Naturally, both drivers spun but were surprisingly able to continue.

The incident took place near the end of the second stage, and the best part was that both of them still managed to score points.

NASCAR fans did not appreciate the stunt by Hailie Deegan

Some fans wondered if Deegan had deceived herself into thinking that Kaden Honeycutt would go to the runoff to avoid her. Others admitted that that particular move was not surprising and was a ‘Deegan type’ move. A few disgruntled fans were also mad that Hailie Deegan practically used her opponent as a brake in a ‘Kaden save me’ moment.

Some fans decided to give her the benefit of the doubt, noting that she locked her tires. As a result, she was out of control and skidded into the unsuspecting driver.

However, they observed that the camera panned away briefly, so no one was really sure of what happened. One thing is for sure, a fair number of fans were upset at the 21-year-old driver’s antics.

As for how their races played out, Deegan finished in 16th place. Meanwhile, 19-year-old Kaden Honeycutt overcame the early kamikaze attack to finish in 15th place. This was actually his best finish of the season so far, after failing to qualify for Daytona, finishing 25th at Las Vegas, and taking 33rd at Atlanta. Meanwhile, Deegan’s best finish was 12th this year at the Atlanta Motor Speedway.
