The silly season has shown us a glimpse of the massive driver shuffle for 2024. Xfinity Series teams have undergone the most modifications among the three national competitions. One of the major incomings to the competition is Hailie Deegan in the AM Racing No.15 Ford. Deegan has transitioned to the second-tier tournament following a three-year stint in the Craftsman Truck Series.

Like every other NASCAR driver, Hailie Deegan is excited for the upcoming season. Speaking on the Money Lap Live podcast, she reveals that she has scheduled about 60 races in 2024. Amidst the conversation, she also disclosed her desire to watch a Formula 1 race. Despite multiple F1 races being held in the United States every year, she has yet to attend one.

Formula 1 has been a huge attraction for NASCAR drivers. Be it the US Grand Prix or the new addition of Las Vegas, bringing the sport to the American population has been an important region for Formula 1. The likes of Denny Hamlin and Ryan Preece visited this year’s Las Vegas race. Someday, Hailie Deegan aims to be featured on the guest list.

“I really want to make it one of the F1 races so that’s something I’m looking forward to,” said Hailie. Revealing the reasons for it, she highlighted that she needs to be up to date with the news.

“I’m trying to make it to one of those, but honestly, a lot of the stuff on racing, I’m not good at keeping up to speed with everything, believe it or not. Even though I’m very in tune with social media, I don’t go on social media a whole lot and just kind of scroll-like when it comes to Twitter or anything like that.”

Hailie Deegan’s love for dirt racing is also something she has fueled occasionally. The former ThorSport driver has even challenged Tony Stewart to a battle for the finish in the SRX Series. Continuing the conversation, she said that dirt racing is another facet of her plans for 2024.

“I know my schedule is a lot this year because I’m doing a lot of dirt racing, too. Along with the 33 races of Xfinity, I have another 20 dirt races I’m going to be doing, so we’ll get around 50-something races. I don’t know if I’m doing the SRX Series yet, but if that gets added, that is going to be another bunch of races.”

Hailie Deegan has been subject to criticism often in her career. Since 2020, she has started in 67 Truck Series races and has five top-ten finishes. The statistic doesn’t particularly shine out, but it hasn’t ensured unfair criticism either. Speaking about the way she filters out the hate, the youngster said,

“I just completely tune it out cause if you’re not doing what I’m doing or if you’ve accomplished more, I will take your input, but if not, I really don’t care about it if you support me and support my career thank you, I appreciate it, I love people who support me and my fans but when it comes to the negative side of things I completely act like they don’t exist.”

With the move to the Xfinity Series, Hailie Deegan has added responsibilities on her shoulders. She started for SS GreenLight Racing earlier this year. Her sole Xfinity outing in Las Vegas Motor Speedway ended with a P13 finish. Should she continue to replicate these results the following year, she could be on her way to winning another Most Popular Driver award.
