The AM Racing team recently announced the next driver of their #15 car in the Xfinity Series. It’s Harrison Burton, who will drive it full-time next year, as Hailie Deegan parted ways with the team mid-season this year. AM Racing stated, “We are grateful for Hailie’s contributions and dedication as the driver of the No. 15 Ford Mustang during her time with the race team.” Since then, Deegan’s NASCAR future has remained uncertain.

There were rumors of her making a series shift, possibly to IndyCar or signing with a new team in Xfinity, but none have been confirmed so far. However, Deegan has used this break to spend quality time with her family. She’s often seen making fun videos with her younger brothers on social media and is also their biggest fan. Hudson Deegan is a motocross racer, and Haiden Deegan competes in both motocross and Supercross. Hailie never misses an opportunity to cheer them on!

Hailie was recently seen in the stands at the SMX World Championship. Her younger brother, Haiden, competes in the AMA Supercross and Motocross championships. The 18-year-old has already achieved significant success in the sport. In the 250cc category, Haiden Deegan recently went back-to-back, winning the 2023 and 2024 250 SMX World Championship titles. This came after he already won the Pro Motocross championship this year. His current SMX championship was achieved after a dominant season, where he won five of the six Motos in the SMX Playoffs and ultimately the final.

Haiden Deegan, after the victory, was asked if he knew he was going to be this good. The humble youngster replied, “I don’t know honestly the plan was like this year I just won a few races. And then next year was my championship year right like that was my goal to try and get a championship next year. But to run three championships by the time I was 18 that’s definitely blew my goals off the list.” While he lifted the trophy, the loudest applause was from Hailie Deegan, who was proud of her younger brother. She took to Instagram to write, “Made the trip out to Vegas to watch @dangerboydeegan win the championship 🙌 @monsterenergy.”

Hailie and Haiden are the children of Brian Deegan, who is a legend in motorsports. During his illustrious career, he was one of the most well-known names in motocross and is a multi-time X Games gold medalist. Naturally, motorsports is in his children’s DNA. After winning the championship, Haiden reflected on the pressure of being Brian Deegan’s son and how it has helped him.

He said, “100% I think like you feel the pressure and I just learn to turn that pressure into like the best me. And that’s kind of it’s definitely a thing that’s just kind of in my system. Maybe how I was raised or something where I don’t let the pressure take over me. I just do my best work when I have pressure so it’s definitely a good habit to have.” Even Hailie Deegan shares the same work ethic, but she couldn’t thrive in the challenging NASCAR landscape.

In 2018, Hailie Deegan became the first female driver in 30 years to win a NASCAR Touring Series event when she triumphed in the K&N Pro Series West at Meridian Speedway. Before her, it was Shawna Robinson who won a NASCAR Dash Series race at Myrtle Beach in 1989. Deegan then went on to secure two more victories in 2019 in the ARCA Menards West Series. The following year, she was named Rookie of the Year with a third-place finish in the 2020 ARCA West Series.

In 2020, Deegan made her Truck Series debut at the Kansas track, where she finished 16th. In 2021, she ran a full season with David Gilliland Racing, achieving her season-best finish at the World Wide Technology Raceway at Gateway. That season, she managed four top-15 finishes. Deegan improved her best finish in the next Truck Series season when she finished 6th at Talladega in 2022, ending the season in 19th position. Her last Truck Series season came in 2023 with ThorSport Racing, which was her best so far. She achieved two top-10 finishes and eight top-15 finishes, ending the season ranked 19th.

After this, AM Racing signed her to run a full Xfinity season in 2024. However, prior to this, she ran an Xfinity race in Vegas in 2022, where she finished 13th. In the 2024 season, she ran 17 races, with an average finish of 26.82. At the end of the season, she was 31st in the points ranking. Since then, she has not run a single race in the NASCAR Series. Many believe that her exit came too quickly for the 24-year-old, as she had shown race-winning capabilities in the ARCA series.
