Hailie Deegan Once Terrorized Her Driving Instructor: “I’m Actually a NASCAR Racer”

As an adult, it is expected of everyone to have a driver’s license whenever they’re out with their vehicle. It’s needless to say that in most countries a driver’s license is a must for anybody to venture out with their vehicle. However, what will happen if you’re a racecar driver and still don’t have a driver’s license?

Yes, we’re talking about Hailie Deegan here. The woman who took everyone by shock when she joined NASCAR to race back in her school graduate days. At the age of just 16, Deegan joined NASCAR K&N Pro Series West. However, what seemed quite interesting is that the current Ford Performance driver was without a driver’s license back then.

As said by the 21-year-old herself, NASCAR doesn’t care if she has a driving license. So that sums up that a driver can still compete in junior NASCAR races to start with without a driver’s license. In a video shared by NASCAR, Deegan is seen heading to obtain her driver’s license.

The video starts with Hailie Deegan’s father driving a truck as he stated, “Hey nothing crazy alright. Gotta get your license. I know it’s kinda lame but you gotta do it.”

To which the NASCAR Pro Series driver responded, “Yeah well, NASCAR doesn’t care if I have one but I guess it’ll be cool to go places by myself now.”

How did Hailie Deegan conclude the test?

As Hailie Deegan reached the place with her father, the instructor asked her for the vehicle. Once the young driver has shown her truck, the instructor got amused by the truck and appreciated it. Before setting off, the instructor asked if Hailie Deegan is nervous about the test.

However, to the instructor’s surprise, Deegan denied being nervous and set off for the drive. Once in, the instructor asked if the former Toyota Development Racing driver has a lot of driving experience. To which Deegan answered aptly and stated, ‘Yes, I’m a NASCAR driver.”

And then she took the instructor for a ride, from pullbacks to slides, to roll downs to jump ups, it must have been a day to remember for him.

It was visible that the instructor was not only surprised but also shocked and taken aback by Hailie Deegan’s skill.

As the duo came back after the short test, the current David Gilliland Racing driver pointed at the instructor and said, “Thanks, I think I learned a lot.”
