When there are siblings, there will always be a bit of roughing up and bullying and Brian Deegan’s family is no different. Brian and Marissa Deegan have three kids, Hailie, Haiden, and Hudson, with Hailie Deegan being one of the brightest prospects in NASCAR at the moment. The 22-year-old is one of the few female racers to have ever been on the NASCAR grid and she is making a name for herself in the Truck Series currently.

Deegan currently races for ThorSport Racing and in her time in the Truck Series, she has achieved four top 10 finishes. A race win is not far off for the 22-year-old who was the guest on a recent episode of the Kenny Wallace show.

On the show, Kenny Wallace had asked Hailie Deegan what it was like growing up with two brothers and if they ever roughed her up since she was the only female sibling. Hailie said that it was quite the opposite and that she, being the oldest of the three, was the one who did the bullying when it came to her brothers, and that it was probably on her that they have aggressive demeanors and personalities.

In a light-hearted moment, Wallace asked, “22 years old and one thing I never thought about, it’s you and your mom against the boys. It’s your dad, Brian, and then, was it Hudson and Hayden, is that right? Do they rough you up since you’re the girl in the family?”

Hailie laughed at the question and answered, “I mean, I think because I was the oldest, I kind of roughed them up growing up so I take responsibility for their aggressive demeanor and personalities.”

Hailie Deegan began her journey in motorsports through dirt bike racing at the age of seven and started competing in short-course off-road racing shortly afterward. She is most comfortable on a dirt track and that was made evident by her recent success at Eldora in a short-track race organized by SRX Racing.

The competition is the idea of NASCAR legend Tony Stewart and it provides a platform for veteran racers and youngsters to showcase their skills in a six-race championship. The latest race was held in Eldora which saw Hailie Deegan move up the field from eighth place to finish in second.

Deegan had to deal with quite a lot of issues throughout all the sessions leading up to the race. She was caught in a huge pile-up in Heat 1, which happened due to an issue with Austin Dillon’s radiator hose. Her car took the brunt of the impact and was heavily damaged.
